IRENE WANGLER lebt und arbeitet in Basel. Nach einer Berufsausbildung im klassischen Tanz vertiefte sie ihr künstlerisches Schaffen durch intensives Studium der Malerei.
In ihrem bewegten Leben war die Suche nach einer Analogie zwischen Tanz und Malerei eine Herausforderung. Die Liebe zu Andalusien und dem Flamenco ist seit Jahren eine Inspiration ihrer Sujets. Die rhythmisch komponierten feurigroten grossformatigen Bilder spielen in den Arbeiten der Malerin eine grosse Rolle. Auch ihre intensive Beziehung zu Salvador Dali, ihrem Freund und Mentor hat tiefe Spuren in ihrer Malerei hinterlassen.

IRENE WANGLER-HIMMELSBACH lives and works in Basel. After professional training in classical dance, she deepened her artistic creativity through intensive study of painting.
In her eventful life, the search for an analogy between dance and painting was a challenge. Her love of Andalusia and flamenco has been an inspiration for her subjects for years. The rhythmically composed fiery red large-format paintings play a major role in the painter's works. Her intense relationship with Salvador Dali, her friend and mentor, has also left deep traces in her painting.
