Bernhard Zimmer (* 1957 in Stuttgart) schafft subtil strukturierte Gemälde, die diametral entgegengesetzte Elemente enthalten - Ordnung und Chaos, Abstraktion und Repräsentation, Kühnheit und Subtilität. Seine Kompositionen sind wie Reliefs aufgebaut. Gitter aus durchscheinend gerenderten Flächen und Blöcken aus unleserlichem Text entstehen in spannenden Farbschichten, ihre Oberflächen verschieben sich mit dem Licht und der Position des Betrachters.

Bernhard Zimmer (* 1957 in Stuttgart) creates subtly structured paintings that contain diametrically opposed elements - order and chaos, abstraction and representation, boldness and subtlety. His compositions are constructed like reliefs. Grids of translucent rendered surfaces and blocks of illegible text emerge in exciting layers of colour, their surfaces shifting with the light and the position of the viewer.
