Maria Maier (* 1954 in Amberg) vermischt Fotografie und Malerei zu ungewöhnlichen Bildkompositionen, sie erschafft in ihren Werken eigenständige Bildwirklichkeiten. Die Fotografien werden mit Siebdruck überarbeitet sowie weiteren technischen Mitteln, Collagen und Übermalungen können die vielfältigen Kompositionen ergänzen.

Häufig beschäftigt sich die Künstlerin mit architektonischen Motiven – Zeit und Raum werden analysiert. Aber auch atmosphärische Stimmungen, politische oder soziale Hintergründe spiegeln ihre Arbeiten wider.

Maria Maier (* 1954 in Amberg) mixes photography and painting to create unusual pictorial compositions, she creates independent pictorial realities in her works. The photographs are reworked with screen printing and other technical means, collages and overpaintings can complement the diverse compositions.

The artist often deals with architectural motifs - time and space are analysed. But her works also reflect atmospheric moods, political or social backgrounds.
