Die Leuchtkraft der Farben sowie ihr Auftrag sind nur zwei Aspekte, die die Arbeiten von Michael Urtz (* 1952) auszeichnen. Auf der Leinwand entsteht ein spannungsreiches Verhältnis zwischen Linien und Flächen. Dennoch wird bei aller Spontanität und freien Komposition eine gewisse Strenge und Harmonie in der Bild- sowie Farbkomposition deutlich. Der Künstler schätzt Acrylfarben, die ein vieltoniges Spektrum bieten – mit einer brillanten, klaren Leuchtkraft.
Michael Urtz studierte bei Prof. KRH Sonderborg an der Staatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart. Er lebt und arbeitet in Stuttgart.
