Okada Mutsumi

Color and its effect are central themes in the work of Mutsumi Okada (* 1953 in Nagano, Japan) - meaning and possibilities are repeatedly questioned. The artist uses color as a carrier of moods and emotions. At the same time, light is taken up as a special visual phenomenon. Mutsumi Okada's paintings require attention and a certain amount of time in order to let their intense compositions and interactions have an effect on them.

Mutsumi Okada constructs her works in many layers, which makes the choice of colours appear different again and again. These formulations change light and space - creating a new environment at the same time.
